FAQs
-
Why should I report?
Currently, less than 30% of survivors choose to report any form of sexual or physical harm. We understand why. It’s a tough process, it can feel traumatizing and it often feels like, what’s the point? We want to change that. The more people report these injustices, the more we will be able to take action against abusers and harmers and create larger change.
-
What will happen to the person?
This is a tricky question. Many things can happen to the person who created harm and it is partly up to you what you want to happen. You can simply create a report for yourself that we don’t pass to police and to add their information in to our database (we will then notify you if the person has multiple reports). And if you report to police, it is up to your local justice system.
-
What will happen to my kit/evidence?
We will notify you throughout the entire process. We’ll let you know when your kit has been tested, any updates on mass reports around the person who caused harm. We will use the evidence to help find people who harm multiple people but it will never be traced back to you and everything will remain anonymous and in your control.
-
Try to report ASAP
If you’re choosing to collect evidence, which will help your case, try to report no later than 5 days after the harm has occurred. You can still report after that time but DNA will be harder to find.
-
Try not to shower
We know it’s probably the first thing you want to do, but try not to shower or go to the bathroom after the harm has occurred. It could remove the DNA or make it harder for providers to collect.

You're not alone
While you may feel like how did this happen to me or why, you are not alone. Gender violence is a global epidemic and we want to end it. 1 in 4 women experience gender violence.

You deserve justice
We want to be fully transparent. Right now, less than 10% of sexual assault cases end in any conviction. However, we want to change that and it’s starts with collecting evidence early and reporting.
